This month’s giveback:
Since it’s back to school time I figured what better way than to giveback to a school in need. This month I chose a local school, but hope to choose school’s worldwide in the future. We will be donating 75% off our profits from today to Central Elementary for books + supplies for the students attending school this year.
I asked teacher, Courtney Haugh to tell us a little bit about her school & their situation,
“Central Elementary is a school nestled in the middle of downtown Nampa, Idaho. Approximately 400 students attend the school every year. To most people, this school may seem like any other school. However, this school is much different. Over 90% of the students in attendance are a piece of the highest percent of economically disadvantaged students in the district. 46% of the students are minorities 20% speak a language other than English at home. Students at this school depend of their teachers and school so much more for things that most of us take for granted. Most of these kids won’t touch a book until they are in a classroom. They won’t have a backpack, pencil, or markers unless someone donates some to them. They are so excited to get to school and have the opportunity to use these supplies. These are items that most of America has in large quantities around their home. Central Elementary is a special school that is making a difference in an important group of youth.”
