Hi, I’m Rachel. I blog over at Rachel In Real Life you can also find me here on Instagram. I spend my days chasing a little wonder named Dawson & snuggling my baby girl Estelle. All while avoiding mountains of laundry and making a home where laughter and love are always found. My heart belongs to my Airman, Kellen. I am a seeker of the simple. I don’t have it all together and I’ll never claim I do. I am a real woman. I have fears. I have insecurities. I also have days when I look in the mirror and say, “Hello, beautiful” because I like the way it sounds to be kind to myself. I love to laugh. I don’t mean a little giggle but the deep laughter that you feel way down in your soul and see on your face. Here’s a peek inside my diaper bag… THE BAG: I’m pretty sure it was harder for me to choose a diaper bag than my wedding dress! After going through three or four bags that just weren’t doing the job, I found this one and fell in love. Is that weird to be in love with a diaper bag?? The Ju Ju Be BFF checked every box on my list. It comes with detachable backpack and messenger straps and it’s machine washable which is a HUGE plus. I wear it as a backpack 99% of the time so I can have my hands totally free without worrying about my bag sliding off my shoulder. THE BASICS: We always have the basics– diapers & wipes, hand sanitizer, diaper cream & a binky. Along with that I bring my nursing cover & a burp cloth. **When I bottle fed my first we loved these and brought a bottled water as well.** SNACKS: An absolute essential for this mama and her kids! We couldn’t survive a trip to the store, children’s museum or even the park without our snacks. We get all sorts of hangry(hungry + angry) over here. Living in Arizona means it gets hot, hot, hot so we never leave the house without our water bottles. Having water, granola bars, fruit snacks or these totally saves us from a meltdown. TOYS & BOOKS: I try to keep a few small books and toys in my diaper bag at all times. We travel a lot and I’ve learned that my toddler does best when he brings along a favorite toy and something new. We try to hit the dollar section of Target before a long car ride or flight so he can pick out something new & special. ** I’ve also learned that bringing a favorite toy along to the store helps avoid that tantrum at the checkout when they don’t get to bring something new home.** THE WRAP: During my second pregnancy I started worrying about how I’d make the transition to two. I only have two hands and they were pretty full as it was! After lots of research and tips from other mamas I decided to go with the Solly Wrap. It has been an absolute lifesaver and there’s just something special about wearing your little one so close. Do you have any diaper bag essentials? I would love to hear about them!
