Can we please have a week all about the Mamas every week? I think we deserve it, right? Maybe y’all more than this Mama..since baby girl is still in my belly..but hey I am going to milk it.
Today we’ve put together the most fabulous DIY Pamper day, one you can do at home after the babes have gone to bed, or if you can really work it–for a couple hours on a Saturday while Dad takes them out to play? Right? 😉 But either way, we’re talking ultimate relaxation for little to no money (depending on what you have around the house). Shall we get started?
Hair Mask. Who doesn’t want beautiful luxurious, soft, shiny hair? And if you already have it…well I don’t like you. Alright jokes, I love you, because of your hair and am just a little bit jealous..fine a LOT jealous. But seriously back on point, first up brush your hair and smother it in a hydrating mask! Here’s on of our favorites from Health Munsta.
And if you don’t have those ingredients, one of my favorite things to do it beat a couple of eggs and use that as a mask, it seriously makes a huge difference! Or just ask Google, the possibilities are endless on there! But load your hair up in a mask, wrap it in a plastic grocery bag, clip it and cover it in a towel! And then jump to the next part of your spa day.
Face. This is a hard one because it’s going to completely depend on your face type. You know oily, combination, dry, etc. I am all about running to the store and grabbing of the cheap little mask packets. But when I can’t do that, or am purely too lazy to. This is my go to face mask and in my opinion I think it’s pretty great for any skin type!
- 2 Egg Whites (make sure to separate them)
- 3 Tablespoons of plain yogurt. (I tend to use greek, I think it’s better for my face–and I just buy the little one serving size container and use about half of it.)
- Mix together
I generally mix them together with my kitchen aid, because I am again too lazy to hand mix it, but once you have it mixed well use your hands and apply a thin layer to your face and neck!
Set the mood. Meaning, find your go to spot, the one where you’re most likely not going to have any interruptions. Get your tunes playing (whether that means dancing tunes or a little Jack Johnson to chill after a long day–up to you Mama!). Setting the mood is what makes the entire experience relaxing and amazing, so make sure this is exactly how you want it! For example, I love being warm, which means I will heat up my little corn bag and bring that with me to my comfy chair and just zone out! Here’s my favorite playlist,
Now, let’s take care of those hard working feet of yours. You know the ones you chase your littles around with all day? They’re probably in need of a little TLC if you’re anything like me! So here’s what we’ve got for you. Run over to your bathroom and grab your favorite body wash, a towel and a large bowl from the kitchen. Fill it with warm water and just a drop of soap so we can get some bubbles going and a little moisture. Lay the towel down on the ground where you’re going to sit and relax and put the bowl on top of it–then put those little feet of yours in that bowl. Now you’ve got your hair sitting, your face moisturizing it up, so sit back and relax–as long as your little heart desires. (Just try not to fall asleep..woops)
Now if you really want to get into it, or have dry/cracked feet like this Mama does, A + B Stories has a pretty fabulous at home scrub you can make! Click here, for the recipe!
This is probably my favorite part about the entire spa day (and yes I totally tried all of this before posting about it.–I mean I had to test it out, duh). Bath time. Grab all the candles you have in your house, light them, turn the lights off in the bathroom and soak it up with your favorite bath salts or bubbles! Bubbles are the best, whether they’re actually doing something or not it makes it feel way more relaxing.
Now, before you go get all relaxed and spoil yourself, we of course have something fabulous in store for you.
