Today while I was driving home from taking our sweet pup Howie to the groomers I saw the cutest little girl (probably 2 or 3 years old) riding her bike at the park by our house. And by riding, I mean pushing herself along with her feet—it was seriously adorable. I instantly burst into tears. Pathetic? Yeah, probably, but I couldn’t even help myself, nor do I care. I instantly thought about how I am going to have that here so soon and got so excited. I don’t want her to grow up fast, definitely not. I think I’d probably love if she would just stay tiny forever, but how exciting is it to think that in two months I am going to have a baby!? A BABY! I’m going to be a Mom. It’s weird, I mean let’s be honest I’ve been pregnant for seven months now. I’ve clearly known I was going to be a Mom, but its kind of becoming super real now. Maybe because it’s so soon or maybe because I’ve just been so busy I haven’t had a ton of time to soak it all in (oops..)! Either way—y’all it’s real and it’s happening and I am again, crying tears of joy as I write this. I just can’t wait to meet her!
Now let’s talk pregnancy-
How far along are you? 30 weeks. That’s insane-seriously in a week I am going to have single digit weeks left. GASP.
How’s Blake? Still cookin’—THANK GOSH. Since she tried to escape a couple of weeks ago this is definitely a good thing. She’s growing, no doubt about that because my belly is getting huge and I officially can’t see my feet without having to strain over my belly. She loves to dance when I turn music on, which totally cracks me up. Seriously though, every time I turn music on, for the first five to ten minutes she just moves like crazy. Her favorite is Beyoncé, by far, so she’s definitely following in her Mom’s footsteps there, don’t tell Dad!
Movements? Oh she moves alright, no doubt she’s going to be one energetic little babe. She finally has calmed down a little at night, which is super nice for Mom over here because it’s already hard enough trying to get to sleep at night at this point. Let’s hope she carries that trait right out of the womb—because fact, this Mama NEEDS sleep.
Innie or Outie? We’re still at an innie, but I don’t know how. It’s stretched to capacity and I am constantly rubbing lotion on my belly because it’s so dry, itchy and seriously stretched. I don’t know how it’s going to get any bigger.
Cravings? Same ole same ole, Blakeleigh LOVES herself anything fruity and sweet. Although, this week I have been kind of back on a little bit of a chocolate kick, but mainly fruit covered in chocolate, so the fruit is still there. Ha!
Excited For? Her baby shower in just a couple of weeks! I can’t wait to see friends and family and celebrate! Y’all know I’m always down for a reason to party, so naturally duh, I’m stoked. Other than that—lot’s of nursery prep. We hung up shelves in there this week and I’ve been trying to go through everything and get it organized. But that’s hard to do because right now we don’t have a ton of extra room. So I’m counting down the days until we move. Which isn’t until August, but hey…I can still count right?
Anyways, that’s all I’ve got for an update this week. Moral of the story, pregnancy hormones are insane—seriously you’ll cry about everything; sad, excited, stressed, happy, you name it. But I am so excited and I secretly love all of my tears (so does my husband 😉 ). I know everyone keeps saying to enjoy this time and I’m really trying to..but home stretch and I’m getting pretty anxious to meet this little girl!!
Xoxo,
Jess
