You know the saying patience is a virtue? Well when you have an 8 month old and you work all day patience is HARD. Being a Mom in general is one giant lesson in patience. Between running around like a crazy lady, answering emails and stopping her from pulling the dogs hair it’s pretty much a madhouse around here. However, we found something. Something that distracts this little babe of mine for hours on end and that’s not even a joke. It’s good–it’s so good and it allows this Mama to get, work, done.
You know Fisher Price right? We ALL do, they’re a huge baby brand and the greatest. Well they make this toy, it’s like the Mercedes of toys (but within our price range 😉 ) and it’s officially Blake’s favorite. It’s called the 4 in 1 Step n’ Play Piano. It has so much to do that when I say Blake will play in it for hours, I’m not kidding. The other day I answered emails, cooked dinner (that’s a rarity. Ha!) and did the dishes while she was happily playing in it. WIN! In fact, I probably could have left her in it longer, but we had other things to do!
A little about the product, it’s music themed. Complete with a little piano to walk on, a headphones mirror, microphone rattle, keyboard, guitar and all sorts of fun little things. Blake is obsessed with walking back and forth on the piano-which is great as she’s about to hit that next step in her little life, it gives great practice! The seat is on a track which allows them to walk back and forth, spin around and play with all of the toys while developing and perfecting gross motor skills. In case you couldn’t tell we’re pretty obsessed and it sits in our living room all day, everyday.
It’s honestly the sweetest thing to watch her get so excited to play with a toy and it’s the best feeling when this Mama can get something accomplished nearby. Am I right? Seriously, how rewarding is it to finish a couple of things on your to do list for that day?! It’s the best feeling in the world! It makes for a better day for everyone. AND I’m about to make your day better too because we’ve teamed up with Fisher Price and are giving one away right here, right now!

Favourite part about mommahood is when the little’s say “I love you” on their own without any prompting. This simple act can turn the worst of days around. Honestly, they could jab scissors into your office chair, sending you into a fit but when that sheepish two year old says quietly, “I love you mom”, all is forgiven (almost). I mean they shouldn’t have had the scissors in the first place, right? So….technically it’s not all their fault. Ahahah.

My favorite part of being a Mom is the love. There is so much love that fills you once that baby is placed in your arms. Yes, everyone tells you about it beforehand but it really is something unexplainable. It’s intoxicating and you just want to soak it up. I love my little guy and as frustrating as being a mommy is some days, he can erase all the frustration in an instant with a flash of that gummy smile.

I’ve been trying to find words to explain how much I love being a mama but I can’t! Motherhood is so beautiful. I never knew I could love so much and feel so loved. I never knew how happy it would make me. I never knew how much I would love to see my little daughter progress. I never knew how much I’d love being so wanted, so needed. I never knew how fulfilling it would truly be. I never knew how much it would strengthen my relationship with my husband, and my relationship with God. I love being a mom with all my heart and might!
