Since summer is drawing to an end here really soon and my FAVORITE season is fast approaching I’ve been trying to do all the things with Blake. You know, like get out of the house — go to the pool, go to the library, to the park, wherever! Plus, it’s nice for this Mama to take a step back from work for an hour and have serious quality time with my babe! Last week we went to the library and it was seriously exactly what my heart needed. It was during one of those days, you know the “temper tantrum, laundry piled everywhere, to do list a mile long, dirty dishes in the sink kind of day”. It was honestly the last thing I wanted to do. Blake was having mega meltdowns about everything and constantly saying “NO!” and I felt like my patience was on the bridge of breaking. Somehow though, I pushed myself to brush my hair, put a baseball hat on (you know, to hide the mess underneath it) and got us out the door.
Blake refused to wear shoes and kicked them off fifteen times and as we were driving there I kept thinking, why? Why are we going out into public right now? There’s no way this is going to work, we will walk in and turn around 30 seconds later. Then I had another thought.
JUST LET HER GO FRIGGIN’ BAREFOOT.
I’m kind of a germ freak (but only when it comes to my baby…ha!), we will talk more about that in a minute, so this thought stressed me out in more than one ways. At that moment though, it wasn’t worth the fight and guess what? We ended up having the best time! Luckily, I ALWAYS carry On-the-go Hand Sani so I put it to good use, especially at the end of our trip ;)! We wiped our hands off, used a couple hand sanitizing wipes for the table and then Blake held onto it the rest of the time we were there and on our way home. It was perfect and put my Mama heart to rest. I mean, who says you can’t use hand sanitizer on your feet too?! 😉
Blake loves books. She had a pile a foot high and we were literally there for an hour looking at all the pictures and watching their pet Guinea pig, “Sparky”. She played with the toys, climbed up the chair and off the chair about 100 times and I just let her be a baby for a little bit. I think sometimes I get wrapped up, wrapped up in parenting, teaching right from wrong, that I forget to just let her have fun. I don’t do it on purpose. I just want to keep her safe, healthy and protect her! Here’s the thing though, it only stresses her and I both out when I do it, so I’m slowly learning to just let her have fun! I can worry about shoes later and thank gosh for hand sanitizer because it fixes the problem anyways!
Why do we choose Babyganics for our hand sanitizer? Because we just LOVE Babyganics products! I can’t stress it enough. You’ve heard me talk about them time and time again and today is no different. Their On-The-Go Hand Sanitizer is alcohol free, instantly foams and helps moisturize skin. It’s really a win, win.
What’s in my bag? I ALWAYS have these items when I’m on the go with Blake:
