When I was a teenager I lost my Grandma. It was one of the hardest years of my life, she helped raise me and honestly was one of my very best friends. I can remember sleeping on the floor in her room almost every night, she would tell me stories, I would laugh and she would let me watch TV way past my bedtime. She has short gray hair, that she would put in velcro curlers with pins every night. She always wore red and blue a plaid button up shirt and her black leather banded watch. When she passed away I got her watch, I wore it every single day until sadly the band gave out on it. Now I keep it in a jewelry box close to my bed and it’s still one of my most treasured pieces of jewelry I have.
Fast forward several years and I got married! My Mom had kept my Grandma’s wedding ring and I was lucky enough to be able to use that same diamond in my own ring. I love having little reminders like this of my Grandma in my life. They’re simple little pieces of jewelry, but they mean the world to me. Recently Links of London reached out to me to work on a Mother, Daughter bracelet set and to say I was excited would be an understatement! As you can see these little treasures of my relatives have been a huge part of my life, so naturally I want to be able to share the same thing with Blake.
It was actually a really fun process and Blake’s tiny bracelet might just be the cutest thing ever. I got to design two of their Sweetie Bracelets, one for me and one for Blake. For mine I chose my Mom’s birth stone and then a Silver and White Diamond Pave Rondelle Bead to put on as charms. I chose the Pave Rondelle Bead because it’s something special the two of us can share together and I hope to add the same one to her charm bracelet for one of her birthday’s one day. On Blake’s tiny bracelet I started with just her birthstone as a little drop charm and two heart locket charms and it’s the cutest! She has the best birthstone color y’all, literally I’m a little jealous — it’s ruby! She loves wearing pretty bracelets right now and it’s way too much fun to match with her. Plus, how perfect is it to have this little memory piece that she can have forever and pass on to her children one day? That’s my favorite part about jewelry, it all tells a story.
