The other day while I was getting ready for the day, Blake was copying everything I was doing. It was seriously the cutest thing ever. I washed my face and she asked to sit in the sink so that she could “wash” her face too. So basically, she just splashed around in the water for a few minutes. Then I put lotion on and she did the same, rubbing it on her little feet, her face, even down to her little elbows. I was dying from all the cuteness. She kept asking for “more pwease” and well, obviously I said yes because well, I just wanted to keep watching all the cuteness that was happening. She copied me all the way through my entire make-up application, using my brushes and putting her “up-up” (make-up) on her face with one of my little brushes. The best part though, seriously the BEST part was when she wanted to put some of my Nubian Heritage deodorant on. I about melted from how friggin’ adorable it was! I’m talkin’ full on lifting her arm up to try and put it on my like Mommy. Only she couldn’t reach all the way so she would end up putting it on her elbow and shirt. She tried to help me put more on and well, it was the best.
I’m trying really hard to enjoy little moments like this more. I feel like so often I’m rushing to get things done and always telling her “no” when really, does it matter if she splashes in the sink a little bit? Does it matter if she gets a little bit of deodorant on her shirt? Nah. In fact it was friggin’ cute, but I so often miss the opportunity and the word “no” automatically comes out of my mouth that I don’t even realize how cute it’s going to be.
Now let’s chat about this deodorant people. YES, I’m literally going to talk about deodorant it’s fine. I was recently asked by Nubian Heritage to share some tips and tricks today. Here’s the thing Mamas, you know what I mean, have you chased a toddler around all day? The struggle is real. You know the saying that, Motherhood is my cardio, it’s true, so true. How in the world such a tiny little human has so much energy is beyond me. I mean, I can barely keep my eyes open through lunch, not to mention the last thing I want to do is jump around all day. Anyways — deodorant, actually let’s just talk about the brand in general because really I believe you should just use their entire line as a regiment. It’s called Nubian Heritage and it’s game changing, I especially love their deodorant and body lotion. I use their Coconut and Papaya which is great for polishing and renewing and well it smells fruity and uplifting which just happens to be another win. Since ancient times coconut has been used for moisturizing and protecting and that’s exactly its purpose in these products too. Coconut oil is that one product that does magic for my skin so when it’s in an actual product that I can use daily, it’s a win! The deodorant is great because it’s lightly fragranced and not over the top, but does the trick while moisturizing and detoxifying your armpits. To really get great results, try using a full regimen with Nubian Heritage, starting with their bar soap in the shower, body lotion after, deodorant and then hand cream (especially for on the go in your purse). All of their products are made with natural, certified organic and fair trade ingredients.
