This year I’ve been trying really hard to be in tune with myself and as a Mother. Meaning, getting down on the floor and playing, doing things together, taking time for things I love, etc. I often find myself burning the candle at both ends and completely exhausted, which leaves little time for myself and honestly affects the way I Mother. So everyday I try to do something for me, whether it’s watering the plants, taking a bath, going for a walk, whatever, I just do me time just for a second, something that I really enjoy. I also try to take an hour everyday to have quality (QUALITY) time with Blake, phone down, uninterrupted and just her and I. Recently we planted an herb garden together, a little something that I like to do (even though I am the world’s number one plant killer) and Blake loved playing in the dirt, so really it was a win, win. Plus, Marcus told me if I couldn’t keep two plants alive this year I didn’t get to spend a fortune (again) next year on new ones…ha! So here’s what I figure, herbs are easy to keep alive (right?) sooo, those will be my two plants. Good game plan, right? Plus, I can use them to cook and that’s a fun win.
First things first, I obviously made something cheesy with all the yummy herbs. Blake loves herself some crackers, in fact love is probably an understatement, like crackers go everywhere with us, all the time. So I came up with the yummiest of concoctions to go in between her RITZ Crackers and now we’re all friggin’ hooked, even Marcus. It also happens to be perfect for spring time and this warmer weather. The other day I made some, we stuffed all the RITZ Crackers, making sandwiches, then we sat on the back patio, chowed down and colored with chalk. It was the perfect, uninterrupted hour of Mommy/Baby time.
Now, lemme share the recipe, because it’s quick and easy!
+Mozarella, Cheddar and Parmesan Cheese
- Warm a saucepan on the stove on low heat. Start with 1 TSP of olive oil in the bottom of the pan.
- Add in 1 Cup of each type of cheese, while slowly stirring to avoid burning.
- Add 1 TSP of Fresh Basil
- A dash of garlic salt and onion powder
- Stir until smooth and creamy
- Then spread evenly on top of your RITZ crackers, make them into a sandwich or eat them as a topper!
