Back pack c/o Just Porter
Do I dare say summer is here? I’m not sure because well…the weather changes every five minutes or so, but I think it might just be here to stay. HOLLA.
Well since it’s here and May is national water safety month I’ve teamed up with The Zac Foundation to share a few of their water safety tips and tricks. This is something I so strongly believe in and since Blake is getting a little older and definitely a little water bug I found it suiting to share this year. The Zac Foundation is a resource for water safety with tons of information and education. I’m going to highlight just a few of the water safety tips today, but you can learn all about them and more, here.
SO let’s friggin’ talk people! The “A, B, C, D’s” of water safety:
- A stands for “Adult”
- Never let children be alone near a pool, ocean, lake, or river.
- B stands for “Barrier”
- Have a fence that goes around your pool.
- C stands for “Classes”
- Kids and adults should take safety classes.
- D stands for “Drains”
- Teach all swimmers to stay away from all pool and spa drains.
We actually just put Blake in a swimming class this year, about six months ago and it’s been game changing. She wasn’t a huge fan of it the first couple of times, but now she LOVES it and asks to go! It’s the cutest little thing. We practice safety techniques in the class, tips and tricks to how she should be behaving in the water and just getting her used to swimming and water in general. She’s done super well and I tell everyone to get their toddlers in one! As does the Zac Foundation 😉 HA!
