I don’t know if it’s the fact that Blake is getting older or what, but lately I have felt so torn with trying to balance working and Motherhood. I find myself struggling and wanting to just spend all the time with my sweet girl. I wish time would just freeze, slow down and that she would stop growing up so fast. I honestly think that’s it. The minute I started planning her second birthday party it was like something hit me. HOLY CRAP, two years has already gone by and I felt like I missed so much of it. I don’t want to feel like that, I want to be present in as much of it as I can. I want to slow down, spoil her with YumEarth treats, soak in all the memories and moments and I want to keep separate, Motherhood and work. I mean, they should be totally separate, but honestly I kept crossing the two.
So I made a game plan. I have to work, I love working, but I needed to get a better routine down, things in order. I hired a babysitter to come a few days a week in the morning. That was going to be my “work time”. The sitter goes home and Blake goes down for a nap that way I can have a few FULL days of work without you know, toddler interruption. Then Mondays and Friday mornings — those are our times. It’s just her and I, work can wait until she goes down for a nap. Then I work during nap time and in the evenings. I just needed a schedule you know, no interruptions when it was just her and I time. Last week was the first week of that schedule and you guys, it was it. It was just what I imagined. My house was clean for the first time in forever, my to do list was ACTUALLY GETTING DONE and I just felt better.
So Monday morning, we started it off right. We packed our little “swim bag”, stuffed full of YumEarth snacks too, because well…I might as well be a cool Mom 😉 and we hit our little beach area, which as you all are already fully aware of — is our current favorite this summer. Honestly, we don’t even really go in the water much, we just sit in the sand, hang out, eat YumEarth snacks and build sand castles. It’s just perfect.
Now, let’s chat YumEarth for a minute because I know you’re probably thinking, Yum what? GUYS, it’s treats, you know…the things your kid wants 9 times out of 10, but better for them. They have SO many options; lollipops (Blake’s fav), gummy bears, licorice, fruit snacks, seriously so many things. BUT it’s a treat I can feel good about giving Blake. It’s honestly one that come in handy in so many situations and it’s been so nice to have this option to give! We have a little “treat basket” in our pantry now that is only filled with YumEarth items, when she gets a treat (for whatever reason…9 times out of time, bribery because I’m that parent), she gets to pick one out from there!
When you have kids you want to give them the very best that you can, even when it comes to candy..YumEarth does just that. They’re convenient to pop in your bag, throw in the car or keep honestly wherever. We keep a few lollipops in the glove compartment (for those long drives), a couple in the diaper bag and then our “treat basket” in the pantry. It’s perfect. YumEarth also makes it easy to meet dietary restrictions (ie; allergies, etc). Moral of the story — get all the YumEarth items, you won’t regret it, pinky promise.
Here’s a few of our favorites:
So here’s to balancing it all, figuring out life and organic treats because well dang it, we got this Mamas!
