I’m excited to show you these cute little french braids today! Blake calls them her “Belle braids” and lately has requested them on the daily. Find the instructions below, if you’re new to french braiding, I suggest watching this youtube video, here, for a quick how to, then jump on back here for the tutorial on these!
LOW FRENCH BRAIDS TUTORIAL
- Elastics (I just get the 1000 pack at walmart or Target – TIP* use a thread ripper to take them out at night. ;))
- Spray Bottle
- Comb – swear by this comb, it gets the tangles out and keeps Blake’s curls on point!
- Detangler (optional)
Here’s my favorites of those items:
Start by spraying down the hair and getting it pretty damp, wet hair is easier to braid. Then brush through it to smooth it out and part down the middle from front to back. If you or your little has bangs, leave them out.
Once you have the part, brush the side you’re not working with over so that it stays parted. Then on the side you’re braiding first, grab a small section (LOW, about mid ear) to start the braid. Take your three pieces and start the braid, slowly grabbing in larger sections to continue the french braid down until you’re ready to put the hair tie on.
Repeat on the opposite side. Then take the bangs and style them how you like. For her side bangs I just get them a little damp with the spray bottle, then brush them over, spray with hairspray and let them dry. Once dry, I smooth them out a little more, but brushing them while wet to the side sets them in place!
Spray entire head lightly with hairspray to finish the style!
