So one thing I am literally TERRIBLE at is relaxing. One, I just honestly don’t really have a ton of “time” for it because well, Mom life and working life, but I also don’t make time. I had this excuse for years about working out and then finally just said, enough is enough and buckled down. It required me to wake up early in order to get it done, but I made it happen and have been going almost five months strong. SO my point is, I made that happen, I can make some “me time” AKA: relaxation time happen. So I made a game plan and figured I would share it with y’all because well, we all need us time.
Mine is obviously catered to my working schedule, so you’ll have to improvise and change where needed 😉 But here is what I started implementing a few days ago and I’ve already seen a huge difference in my overall attitude. Because – Sass.
- Blake takes naps somedays, but either way – she goes down for quiet time. This is my prime time to get work, well anything really, done. BUT what I started doing was taking – 10 minutes to myself right after she goes down. I generally put her down, then rush to my office and start working and then before I know it she’s up (or quiet time is over) and I feel scatter brained and overwhelmed. SO I started doing this, you could even do it right before they get up! Anyways, I take 10 minutes for me – whatever I want, look at social media, just lay there, whatever. I usually always eat a “treat” too because why the heck not. Lately I’ve been stuck on noosa mates (yoghurt), guys IT’S SO GOOD, like don’t knock it til’ you try it. Seriously – just sharing the love, check it here. It’s their new line-up of mix in style yoghurt and is just velvety with crunchy toppings and so tasty.
- Meditating at night. So this is actually somethin’ I have done off and on for awhile and it’s so beneficial when I do, BUT I am working on making it an actually habit every night because I really do see the benefits. I love the app “head space” and I usually just do it for 5-10 minutes, but it gives me a moment to get out of my head before I got to bed. It’s also pure time for me to get my creative juices flowing again because I swear during the day I can’t even think for more than 30 seconds at a time. HA!
- Do you once a week. I have been scheduling something for myself to do once a week or if life is crazy, every other week – weather it be a date to Starbucks for an hour or a pedicure or whatever – something that is just for me and out of the house. This has been so good for my soul.
So there’s what I’ve been working on, even in just the last little bit, it’s been really good for me. What do you guys do for a little R&R?! Also, run and get your hands on noosa – it’s seriously so friggin’ good guys. I literally eat at least one a day, sometimes more. Their yoghurt is a unique combination of sweet and tart plus a thick velvety texture and I’m usually weird about the texture of yogurt…so that’s saying something 😉 Their new noosa mate flavors are my fav and available in caramel chocolate pecan, coffee chocolate almond and blueberry walnut granola.
Now, get your game plan going and let’s do this Mamas!
