SO I am finally making this post happen…whoops. Seems like that is happening more often than not lately, I swear. Whoops. BUT I am here and attempting to keep my head about water 😉 SO let’s talk laser hair removal. I shared that I was going in for my second appointment a couple months back and the questions came piling in on my DMs, well today I had my fourth appointment and I thought – oh yeah, I should get on that. I am going to set it up like a Q+A, I feel like that’s easiest, but if you have more questions, feel free to leave them in the comments and I’ll answer them as I see them!
Q: Where are you getting it done?
A: Currently I am doing my Brazilian and underarms, I am hoping to add on my legs soon. I went in thinking I was going to just do my face (friggin’ PCOS) but the hair wasn’t dark enough so I couldn’t…
Q: Does your hair have to be dark?
A: Yes – which was the problem I ran into. I wanted to do my face but it wasn’t dark enough – SO I said, welp might as well do something and here I am, Brazilian and underarms it is 😉 but I’m really stoked about both soooo it’s a good thing.
Q: How much is it?
A: So I am going to Simplicity Laser in Boise and pay $43/month for Brazilian and my underarms. So I don’t think it’s terrible – just pulls out of my account each month. I want to say unlimited is like $100/month so still not terrible, in my opinion.
Q: Does it hurt?
A: So I am not going to sugarcoat it – it doesn’t feel great, but the entire thing (both underarms and down there) takes 5-6 minutes, it’s FAST so it’s tolerable. It’s not end of the world pain though, it’s just a hot sting – but again, I can manage it and I have a weak pain tolerance. I’ve heard really good things about this numbing cream though and I just purchased it so we will try that!
Q: Have I seen results so far?
A: YES! I still have hair in those areas, but it’s SOOO much thinner, like SO much thinner. SO I am excited for the full results!! Plus it’s been nice even now because I don’t have to shave nearly as often so far.
Q: Do you get red from it?
A: No, I don’t and I have pretty sensitive skin, so I feel like that’s saying something. I don’t get red at all.
Q: How long does it take for full effects?
A: Honestly, I don’t know the “for sure” answer – but I do know that I signed up for 18 months, so I am assuming it’s not a fast, overnight thing 😉 I go in every 6 weeks!
I think those were the main questions I got asked, so there you have it! I’ll report back in a few months on the progress, but if you have any other questions, leave em’ below!
