Look at me, sharing our first “room” of the house! I shared our pantry last week (so I guess not the first room), but I’m so excited to share our dining room. We broke it in last night and had my family, plus some extended family over for dinner and it was so fun. You don’t really realize how much you miss simple things like eating dinner at the table with your family until you don’t have your own space to do so, so I am cherishing all the moments now.
Now, let’s talk design because I know that’s what y’all are interested in for this. I got chu. Like I said, our entire house has a slight bohemian feel with a modern twist and lots of whites. So I wanted our dining room to match just that. It was really important to me in this house to do things that matched my style and that I loved rather than things that are “in trend”. So I actually took a tip from my girl over at Finders Keepers Design and created a Pinterest board named “My Style” and pinned everything that I truly loved on that board, not just things that were cute, but things I could actually see in my house and live with. Then I built off of that.
Our dining room table is the Parsons Table from Room & Board with the Ash Sand Stain topped. It’s gorgeous, seriously I couldn’t have asked for a better table. It’s extremely well made, Blake has already spilled on it and it came right off without hesitation. I know this is going to be a long term table and I’m super happy with it. Then we did the Soren Chairs in charcoal to go with it. Which I also love so much, all were gifted to us from Room & Board for this project. Our rug is actually an old one from a few years ago, so I can’t find that online, but I did find this Room & Board one that matches pretty darn close and if their rugs are anything like their furniture – it’ll be incredible.
As for the light – oh my gosh the light – seriously one of my favorites in our house. It’s a Kichler light, their Moorgate 5 Light, if you go to this link, here, you can easily type in your zip code and find a retailer that carries it close to you!
Then decor and Blake’s little kitchen, I linked everything below so you could easily shop it there:
