I’ve literally been trying to write this post for a few hours but Blake and I keep having dance parties so I get distracted, come back, edit another picture then dance again. Whoops! HA! I am so excited to share our little entry way though. It’s the perfect, simple little spot in our house with the most gorgeous barn door from Barn Pros that I painted white and I love it so dang much.
I wanted this spot to be simple, but follow the bohemian theme I’ve tried to keep throughout the house and really pop with our front door and the barn door. It’s not a huge area, so I had to think practically with it and got a small entry table from Target. Which I’ve looked everywhere online and can’t find it to link for y’all so SORRY! I linked a couple similar ones below though, but maybe you’ll get lucky and it’ll be in store for you! It was under $100 and is super well made. ANYWAYS, the rest of the stuff, minus the mirror and barn door were all things I have had and just put them together. The “numbers don’t matter” sign is from Be Bona Fide a couple of years ago, but still one of my favorite signs!
ANYWAYS, I wanted to break down the barn door for y’all. Again, it was gifted from Barn Pros and it’s BEAUTIFUL in person. I will say, when it’s time to put it up – plan to start at a reasonable hour and probably not 11PM because it takes teamwork and a little time, HA! Not that I know that from experience or anything 😉 It actually came unfinished in a wood grain though, which I LOVED, but I wanted this one to be white and match our walls to give that area a little texture. SO I got a paint with primer built in just from Sherwin Williams in the same color as our walls which is “Pure White” and I love it. It’s a creamy white and doesn’t look beige or blue at all — literally the perfect white people.
SOO it came like this, here’s a little breakdown of the process:
Before I did anything with it, I literally unpackaged it, moved it to a tarp and painted it. I just used a roller and brush for the corners and did two LIGHT coats. I wanted it to look a little rustic so I didn’t get too heavy with the paint and kept it super natural to show all the grains, lines and beautifulness that the wood gives it! Then I paired it with bold black hardware and I’m seriously in love. You can see their selection of doors, here. They’re all beautiful.
SO ANYWAYS, that’s about it. I love this little space and it’s actually growing to be my favorite spot because Blake insists on doing a little “dance performance” right in front of that door everyday and it’s the cutest thing ever and I want to remember these moments forever.
