I love involving Blake in really as much as I can, life is just so dang busy and crazy that any chance I can do something with my sweet girl, I’m jumpin’ on that train. Plus, she’s at the age right now where she loves to help and be involved so this kind of felt like the perfect little project to do together this year. And now I get to share it with y’all so you can jump on it too! Last week, I let Blake “make her own wrapping paper” – then we wrapped family gifts up in it, made little “bows” on them and she got to be a part of literally all of it!

It was honestly SO easy to do and she thought I was the coolest, which these days is hit or miss, so I’ll take any “Cool Mom” moments I can get. Here’s what you’ll need for it:

• Butcher Paper
• ScotchÔ Brand Precision Scissors
• Scotch® Super-Hold Tape (because little sticky fingers)
• Markers / Crayons
• Stickers (if you so desire)
• Gift boxes (for easier wrapping)
• Scotch® Expressions Glitter Tape

So what I did was I literally rolled out the butcher paper on the living room floor, I had the brown already, but grabbed it in white too just to mix it up! So I spread out each one on the floor, then got out the crayons and markers and let her go to town. Seriously I just let her color her heart out on it, I got in on the fun and we had a blast for no joke close to two hours just coloring together. Once she had, had enough coloring, I helped teach her how to measure the wrapping paper for each gift, then I cut it out and she helped me tape it all out!

Just watching her face light up with the wrapping paper she had made, now wrapping presents she got to give to some of her favorite people, was incredible. It’s the little things people – seriously and I try really hard to soak all of those little moments in, because they go way too dang fast.

Once we got all the presents wrapped, then we did something fun with Scotch® Expressions Glitter Tape (which I highly recommend – it’s just fun and is great for decorating!). We made little “pretend ribbons” across a few of them and around the outsides of some boxes and Blake thought it was the coolest. I mean, she even made her and I “belts” out of it too….so multi-purposeful, mkay? 😉 Such an easy little project, but one that they can be involved in and I love the “handmade” touch it gives it too – makes those gifts just a little more special than they already are, am I right?
