First off, just a huge thank you for all the love and support from today. Seriously you guys are incredible and I’m not going to lie, I was just so nervous to share. Mainly because I am so happy and nervous at the same time, especially with our little bleeding scare last week – I can’t help but be anxious. But a positive is a reason to celebrate, so here we are and we are CELEBRATING. Now let’s just pray everything goes smoothly <3 And let’s answer some questions I’m getting asked!
Q: Am I expected multiples?
A: No clue yet – have to wait until my first ultrasound! I’m super eager to find out too. HA!
Q: When is your first ultrasound?
A: First week of February!
Q: Have we told Blake yet?
A: YES! I actually bought her a shirt that says “BEST SISTER” and took her to Marcus’ work for lunch and told him that way. 😉 So yep, she knows!!
Q: What’s my due date?
A: September 22nd 🙂 Forever and a day away 😉 HA
Q: What kind of pregnancy work outs am I doing?
A: I’m keeping with basically the same things I was doing before, just with a little less weights. So boxing, cardio + strength!
Q: How far along am I?
A: 5 weeks on Friday!
Q: How can I help a friend going through IVF?
A: This is such a hard question because every person/personality is so different. But for me, it would’ve been support – not so much pep talks of “it’s going to happen!”, etc. (that’s more annoying for me to hear personally), but more of let’s get lunch, let’s keep busy, etc.
Q: Is Blake excited?
A: YES! Telling everyone (literally) that Mama has a baby in her tummy! Hahah! It’s cute – but also I’m like eeekkk don’t tell everyone.
Q: Was this your first IVF?
Q: How many embryos did you transfer?
A: We transferred two embryos!
Q: Do you have any symptoms/cravings?
A: Honestly, I’m not sure – mainly because I’ve been on so many hormones for a long period of time now, so honestly my body has been a mess. I have been eating broccoli everyday for three days, which might just be a fluke – but I can say one thing for sure has hit in the last couple days and that is EXHAUSTION. I’ve never been so tired in my life, like have to take a nap daily.
Q: What was your initial reaction?
A: So originally, I actually cheated and took a pregnancy test on Friday and it was positive and I was hysterical – literally like a crazy person between smiling/giddy and balling on the bathroom floor. Then I got a little nervous just because I don’t know that’s what I do – psych myself out, so once I got the blood results back on Monday I had another little mini crying breakdown of excitement! HA! Marcus cried too 😉
Q: What was your HCG level?
A: It was 202 on Monday which honestly means nothing to me, so I don’t understand. HA!
Q: How much longer will you take injections?
A: Through end of March at a minimum, possibly more depending on how my body reacts, etc!
Q: When is your next appointment?
A: We do another blood draw next week to check HCG levels again!
Q: How shocked will you be if it’s twins?
A: Honestly, I don’t think I’ll be shocked just because I know it’s a possibility with putting two in – but I willlll for sure be a little nervous. HA! I mean, two babies – that’s scary. HA But obviously would be thrilled too!
Q: How did you stay positive during the waiting period?
A: Honest answer – I didn’t. Especially when I started bleeding, I was a wreck. But I have awesome friends and family that came right over and took care of me and let me lean on them.
Q: Do you know gender?
A: We don’t! We didn’t do genetic testing – so totally going in blind! 😉 Guess time will tell!
Q: Did you get sick with Blake?
A: YES. I only through up once, but was literally nauseas and sick ALL DAY long for the first 4 months.
Q: Are you at risk for the same complications you had after you had Blake?
A: Nope! They were totally unrelated, just happened to happen after I had her – but it’s been taken care of and everything so far each year since has looked good, so fingers crossed!
Q: Did you do a fresh or frozen embryo transfer?
A: We did a frozen because I was at high risk for over stimulation!
I think I covered the majority of questions, but if there’s something else y’all are interested in – drop em’ below! Thank you again, seriously y’all are incredible!
