First off, let me start with – I’m not an expert, these are just things that work for us to help stay healthy, but I thought it would be fun to highlight those things. Especially during cold and flu season and well, all the sicknesses. Does this mean we never get sick? Nah, but it has helped this year especially making some differences! We teamed up with DocuSol® Kids today to make it happen, so let’s dive in.
- Change Immediately After School – So this is a tip that actually a few of y’all recommended to me and no joke, made all the difference. On pre-school days when Blake gets home from school, she goes upstairs, changes clothes and those go in the washer – which also kind of forces me to do laundry at least two days a week 😉 It might be a little extra work, but helps keep them germs at bay.
- DocuSol® Kids – Constipation has been a problem for Blake since she was a baby and we’ve tried all the things, including diet changes and some have helped and some haven’t – but overall there are still moments of “we need help” and this little mini-enema has really helped with that! It’s safe and effective for kids ages 2 to 12, and works within 15 minutes so you don’t have to wait overnight for relief.
- Daily Multi-vitamins – I feel like this is an obvious one, but it also is important to do your research to find good vitamins and especially ones with immune boosters in them. We do our best to stay on top of this and take these daily – in fact, Blake now reminds me on the days that I forget 😉
- Vitamin D – I’m not going to lie, I didn’t even realize how much, I, myself needed this – but getting outside (weather permitting obviously) is such a game changer. Even in the 30-degree weather, we’ve been bundling up and going for short walks, just to get some fresh air and take a break from inside! Sunlight helps the body produce vitamin D, which is essential for strong bones and helps the immune system, too.
Hand Sanitizer – Blake actually calls it “handitizer” (which why that isn’t a thing yet is beyond me), but I keep one in my car, in my purse, in our activity bag, basically everywhere. Just the mini ones you can buy and they’re the best. Then I make sure we use it often!
What do you guys do to keep the germs at bay and a healthier home in your house?! I love learning new tricks, especially since we are in school now and it seems like every germ ever, comes home with her. HA Also – if you haven’t tried Docusol® Kids, do it! It’s a total game changer for kids with constipation and well, I know other Mamas out there could use the tip 😉
