Y’ALL IT’S DONE! Have I screamed it enough or let you know? 😉 Anyways, I thought I’d share a peek into it with some of my favorite spring cleaning tips and tricks and all the details you need/want to know about the washer/dryer combo we went with. So let’s do this thing. First, a peek:
Now, let’s dive into specifics. I’ve been in full nesting mode for basically a few weeks now and I can’t be stopped. In fact, Marcus is for sure annoyed with me at this point, but it’s fine because THINGS ARE GETTING ORGANIZED + CLEAN. Plus I mean he still loves me and all that, so he’s obviously not THAT mad. 😉 So I thought I’d share some of my tips that I’ve learned through the years and been doing so far this year:
- Bins: Bins go a LONG way. As you can see pictured below, everything has a spot – even the laundry detergent + oxi clean is in a container. It just makes things smoother + looks better.
- Labels: Again – HOLLAA – things are smoother with labels. You can find everything easier, they all have a place + it’s just so much more organized than just shoving them in a cabinet. Tips for labeling: either write it clear + legible (and make sure you include everything that’s in there) or use a label maker! Here’s a link to my fav label maker, here.
- Create a schedule. If you only do a big cleaning once a year, make a list of everything that needs to be done and tackle a project or two each weekend until it’s done. Or better yet – I’ve kind of created a system, that every other weekend we do something to keep up with it and just rotate through it. For example, going through toys one weekend, drawers, kitchen, bathroom cabinets, etc. If you just keep cycling through all the things – they stay organized a heck of a lot better!
- Invest: I know – money doesn’t grow on trees, but I’ve learned rather than buying to buy or buying the cheapest option – it’s better to save until you can afford one, what you really want (like a washer/dryer) or two, the things that are going to make things run smoothly in the long run (like cabinets, shelving, bins, etc.)
Now, let’s talk washer/dryer. I know that’s what y’all mainly came for, HA! Sooo many of you were so impressed that this washer/dryer combo was a DOUBLE of each. AKA: two washers in one, two dryers in one. I have to say – at first I was like these look really great, they have good reviews and everything I’ve read online has been positive – but I was still a little skeptical because well, IT SOUNDS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE. But y’all, I’m here to tell you – it’s not. I’ve been using them for a few weeks now, almost a month and well, if you’re a Mom you know by now they’ve gotten a TON of use (like 2 load a day use) and they’re freaking awesome. They did not disappoint whatsoever.
So let me explain the dual thing. The washer has a main, big washer on the bottom and then a smaller one on top. Both work equally as great and get the job done with several wash options. Typically I’ll wash whites in the top (since there’s less of those) and colors in the main one or kitchen towels in top, something else in the bottom, etc. So I’m literally getting two done at the same time. Same goes for the dryers. However – the top dryer has some REALLY cool features, like a steam option, which we’ve used and love! It gets your clothes unwrinkled quickly + leaves them pressed and smooth. Another way Marcus has used the top dryer and top washer is for his hats + shoes – they’re seriously perfect for that.
Okay, okay – so there’s the main “features” of them. But one more thing I have to share that I love about them. They connect to your smart home + smart phones. AKA: when they’re done being washed, it alerts you and you can check on it to see how much time is left, etc. I’ve been SO much better at switching over laundry because of this. Does that mean I fold them in a timely matter? Nah. They still sit in the basket for like a good 5-7 days….but I’m not re-washing clothes over and over again because I keep forgetting they’re in the washer. So we are winning in one way. 😉 Now, if I could just find something that automatically folds + puts all my clothes away we would really be winning.
I’m going to link them both here for you so you can check them out and everything:
And then I’m linking the rest of the laundry room here for y’all to see as well:
