Since beginning my partnership with Autotrader, I’ve learned so much. Like – good, car, knowledge and I love sharing it with y’all because I feel like just in life in general, education is so important especially on things you’re spending money on and investing in. So for the month of May – we wanted to focus on some tips and details on car maintenance and retaining your car’s value and condition. AKA: Preppin’ for summer and all that driving you’ll be doing too. π Which we kicked off Blake’s summer last night with a pizza party in the back of Marcus’ truck just in the sunshine and it was seriously so fun. Had to soak it in before another week of rain hits. UGH. Like – come on Idaho weather, get with the program, summer is here now. Which means the rain and crappy weather needs to stop.
Autotrader has a lot of resources to learn about topic and of course the tools to see your car’s current value and how to invest in a certified pre-owned (which y’all know I’m a big believer in, that’s what we did for M’s truck), you can learn more, here. But I thought I’d share just a few quick ways they recommend and some things that we’ve learned and do with our cars. Which, well some easier said than done because Mom life and just, business, but as long as you’re making an effort- you’re most likely setting yourself up for more success in the future. Okay, so tips:
- Regular Maintenance: I remember growing up and my Dad constantly putting this in my head. HA π You know, the reminders for oil changes + tire rotations, but being a teenager and like, blah. Well guys, it’s actually really important. Keeping up with the maintenance not only keeps up with drivability and appearance, but also can save you money down the road on costs which is a win y’all.
- Regular cleaning: Yeah, I know – Mom life. But I really do my best to at least go and get the outside washed regularly, then about once a month clean all the crap out..you know, like kid’s everything, etc. π And there are great things you can grab at stores near you to clean your own car, you don’t have to spend a fortune. I use my own vacuum a lot and even have a little things to “shampoo” the seats that only cost be a few bucks.
- Be aware of your value: I like to check the value on our cars often, just to make sure we are staying ahead and aware of our situation, etc. I recommend the same!
You can learn even more tips and tricks over at Autotrader, because they’re the really knowledgable ones, but there’s my two cents for you. π It’s been real y’all – enjoy your holiday weekend + YAY FOR SUMMER! Hopefully your weather is cooperating better than ours.
