I’m not sure if you remember last year – but I actually shared about this same sunscreen briefly on instagram, but I figured let’s get a blog post up and details on it so it’s easy to find, especially now that we are in the summer months. I’m kind of a freak about skin protection, especially because my Mom had melanoma and well, I just want to be as safe and cautious as possible for me and my little family. Well this summer we have some fun things planned and on our “summer bucket list” that are all outside, so sunscreen was on the top of my list. And I’ll share some of our bucket list items at the end. 😉
Anyways, so we use Blue Lizard sunscreen for a few reasons. One, it’s a mineral sunscreen and I really like that, especially with the reef formula which means no oxybenzone or octinoxate. Two, it’s actual the number one pediatrician recommended sunscreen, so obviously that’s a huge checkmark on my “must haves” list. Three, it’s also dermatologist recommended and since my mom did have melanoma, me and Blake are there a couple of times a year getting checked on and Marcus once a year. So I like that it’s been recommended by trustworthy dermatologists. And finally, my favorite part (and last year y’all loved this) – the bottle actually turns blue when there are harmful UV rays present, which is a good, quick, reminder that it’s time to reapply! It’s actually pretty cool + I shared it on stories from what it looks like inside, outside with the sun present.
So the good news about all of this is, it’s available at Target, which is just an excuse to get your cute self over to Target and you know “just buy sunscreen”. AKA: BUY BLUE LIZARD SUNSCREEN, PLUS ALL THE HOME DECOR ITEMS AND CUTE BABY OUTFITS. You’re welcome. I mean, your husband can’t be mad then because YOU GOT SUNSCREEN PEOPLE. Just protecting our skin obvi, in this cute new swimsuit too. 😉 Okay, done being a bad influence.
Now, summer bucket list. One of these days (you know, before summer is over), I’ll get our full bucket list up, but for now I thought I’d share some of our outside ones:
- Waterpark
- S’mores
- Splash pad
- Movie in the backyard
- Go to the zoo
- Snow cones at the park
- Go to the farmer’s market
- Fly a kite
- Go to the lake
There’s a little peek! What’s on your guys’ summer bucket list?!
