Prepare yourself for a long post, full of all the things, pictures + our recommendations for next time you’re visiting Park City/Deer Valley! First off, I’ll say it’s for sure a great place to bring a family, 100%! Everything was family friendly, Blake had a blast and the staff at almost every location we went to were so great with Blake! So I’ll break it down below by lodging, eats + activities, that way it’s easy to find everything. I’ll say though, this was exactly what we needed before baby boy gets here – our last little fun trip as a family of three!!
Also, before I totally dive in – just in case you want to jump over and start planning a trip, the Deer Valley website, is a great place to start and book almost everything – you can book lift tickets, activities, lodging, etc. all in one place.
LODGING:
(Thank you Deer Valley Resorts for getting us all set up with Trail Ends Lodging!)
- Where we stayed: Trail’s End Lodge
- It was great! The location was prime, located right at the bottom of the mountain where the ski lift is, outdoor amphitheater and a whole bunch of other fun activities are within minutes (walking distance) of your room.
- Benefit: instead of your typical “hotel” room, you get the lodging experience, so you basically have a small little cabin to yourself! This was so nice, especially with Blake – having a kitchen area, multiple bathrooms, etc.
- Pool + hot tub off of our room! They had a beautiful pool overlooking mountains and then we got lucky with a hot tub off of our room on the back patio (though, make sure you choose this as an option, not all rooms have them)
- If you go to DeerValley.com, you can totally customize your stay and choose options like – ski-in, ski-out, A/C, hot tubs, etc. They have a whole list of amenities, neighborhoods, type of housing, etc. to choose from when booking!
EATS:
- Deer Valley Grocery-Cafe
- We got food to go here on our first night in for their free Wednesday night concerts and then we are going there again this morning for breakfast. We loved it! They’re a cafe (so you can stay and dine in on the deck) and they have a little market, so you can also grab fresh made treats and other goodies to go. Try any (and all) of their desserts, seriously they won’t disappoint 😉
- Royal Street Cafe
- So this little cafe is actually located at the top of when you ride the lift and it was DELICIOUS. I got the turkey chili with tortilla chips and LOVED it. Blake did pizza with fruit and carrots and if you saw my insta-stories, she downed the carrots and I was basically like, can we move in? 😉 HA! She doesn’t do that at home. Then Marcus went with a burger and their fries – which their fries are SO good. They’re seasoned and covered in cheese and so yummy!
- Park City Provisions by Riverhouse
- We went here for breakfast on Friday and it was the cutest little place on Main street! Their decor was right up my alley – hello white walls, fiddle leaf figs and gold accents 😉 Y’all know I was impressed from the moment I walked in. Their avocado toast was DELICIOUS, Blake stole a whole lot of it….HA! Blake got a parfait (thanks to Butterbean Cafe, she loves them and knows what a parfait is at four years old) and fresh fruit – both so good and she chowed down. Marcus got their biscuits and gravy and while I didn’t try that one – he said it was some of the best biscuits and gravy he’s had (which is saying a lot because he LOVES them).
- Thank you Park City Provisions by Riverhouse for sponsoring this meal.

- The Brass Tag
- We had reservations to go here on Friday night, but the heat just caught up to me and all the going and I did not feel well and well, Braxton hicks were hittin’ strong. Sooo we opted to order it to go instead and Marcus picked it up while I put my feet up! #Pregnancy – it was DELICIOUS. I’m a little sad we didn’t get to see the restaurant, but if it’s anything like the food was – it’s good!
- The Eating Establishment
- This is located on Park City’s Historic Main Street – we went there on a whim one day for lunch and were really impressed with the food. They were pretty busy, so it took a hot minute for things (but I’m chalking that up to the few larger parties there) but the food made up for it. We all did breakfast foods, Blake and I, pancakes and Marcus an eggs plate and we also got their meat and cheese plate to start. Everything was delicious!
Basically everything was recommended on Deer Valley’s site under dining and they have a ton more options as well, so make sure you check that out and game plan before and during your trip!
ACTIVITIES:
- Deer Valley Concert Series
- On Thursday we got in on their summer concert series and went and saw Jenny Lewis and Waxahatchee. It was really fun and Marcus and I have now found a new artist we love (which is rare we like someone the same in the music world ;)). The Deer Valley Team pre-ordered us picnics, so we picked those up when we got there and brought a blanket and made a little night out of it. I would definitely recommend that and the wrap traditional picnic option – so good!
- Park City Museum
- Not going to lie, I thought this would be more so for Marcus and I (mainly Marcus because well, history teacher and he loves this stuff), but Blake LOVED it you guys. This was the first time we had ever taken her to a museum, museum (not a kid one) and she was so into it. She was asking questions about everything, thought it was so great to see the old Firetruck in there and was SUPER into all the details on the miners (Park City was apparently a big mining town!). We let her pick one toy when we left and she immediately picked out a Miner’s hat and went straight to check out. I love watching her little brain work. It was pretty cool to see though, they had original jail cells, Olympic memorabilia and then some really fun skiing things + all the mining things (again, Blake’s fav ;)).
- Grand Valley Bank Community Concert Series
- We did this the first night we got here. On Wednesday’s during the summer at the Snow Park Amphitheater they do a free concert with local and out of town bands. It was really fun, we brought a food, a blanket and let Blake just kind of play/dance around while we relaxed and ate dinner. It seemed to be a pretty popular event too! There were a lot of people there and it was set up well!
- Scenic Chairlift Rides
- If you ask Blake her favorite part of the trip – it was this. She LOVED it. It’s the ski lift, but obviously no snow, so you get a beautiful view of the entire Valley. The part I loved was at the top, there’s a whole bunch of stuff to do, more lodging, food and hiking trails. We did the Sultan Out and Back hiking trail when we got to the top and by “did it” I mean, we went about halfway to a picnic table, then turned around (that’s what one of the workers recommended since I am 30 weeks pregnant and we had Blake). She did great, rode on Marcus’ shoulders most of the time – so I would recommend maybe a carrier 😉 but it was seriously BEAUTIFUL and I would for sure do it again, just maybe not this pregnant 😉
- Hiking
- As mentioned briefly in the above point, we did an easier hiking trail, but loved it. They have a TON of trail options though, for both hiking and mountain biking. You can even take another lift up and get even higher into the mountain! See their whole hiking trails, here.
- Park City’s Historic Main Street
- We did this last time we came here and I can’t recommend it enough. It’s a fun little main street, with a ton of shops (both larger retailers and small shops unique to Park City) and so many places to eat. This is also where The Park City Museum is located. You can shuttle here or there’s a lot of different parking lots/street parking, just make sure you read the signs and know – parking does cost. I think what I love about this is entire street is one – you can get unique little things from each shop (maybe I’m weird but I love finding things like this and shopping small) and two, there’s so much history on the street and the buildings are beautiful!
