Blake has been asking for a booster seat for well, the past several months. Probably because all her older friends are getting them, but she’s still a little too small for a true booster. So, when we got and installed the Chicco MyFit Zip Air Harness + Booster Car Seat she was SO excited! Probably just because she knows it turns into a booster seat when it’s time, but it also fits a little different and is a little “older” looking according to her. So whatever that means…haha! It also has a snack tray and separate armrests which she thinks are basically the coolest things ever. Glad I could make her car seat dreams come true, thanks for helping me out with that one Chicco 😉
Anyways, so September is Baby Safety Month (a perfect time to refresh on car seat safety), so I teamed up with Chicco to share the MyFit Zip Air and the importance of car seat safety! Chicco has been manufacturing baby gear for decades, in fact, Blake’s first infant seat was Chicco (it was actually their #1 rated KeyFit 30 infant seat). But besides car seats, boosters and all that goodness – did you know they also carry playards, highchairs, strollers + more?! Not going to lie, I knew about a couple of those, but not all of them – so I’m over here learning too. 😉 You can run to their site, here and check all that out!
But today I want to focus on the MyFit Zip Air since that’s the product we have been trying out. It’s designed to keep little, big kids, comfortable and content with the security of a five-point harness. Maybe this is what Blake meant by “it’s a little older” Haha! I was able to chat with Chicco’s Child Passenger Safety Advocate, Courtney Barry, to learn more about the MyFit Zip Air and she really emphasized the importance of finding a car seat the fits your child and car. This was a great Baby Safety Month car seat safety reminder for me – like I said, Blake has wanted to “graduate” to a booster like her friends, but since she’s on the smaller side, I knew that wasn’t the right move. The MyFit Zip Air is a perfect “transition” seat that fits her size well and will grow with her when she’s ready! Plus, it fits great in our car and is really narrow, leaving plenty of room in the back seat.
The MyFit Zip Air has a nine-position extended headrest, four reclining options and easily transitions to a belt-positioning booster – so Blake was spot on when she said it fits a little different than her old car seat! It’s also designed with parents in mind, with functional features and simple installation, which I can attest to since well, we installed it. 😉 It took just a few minutes, latched in well and was easy to get tight and secure in place! It was also easy to adjust and move the straps, etc. where they needed to be for Blake’s height/weight/age!
Now the big question…does it clean easily? Well, I’m about to rock your world because the Zip + Wash seating literally makes it SO easy to clean. So you can zip it off and throw them in the washer, but there’s still a top pad in place for your little to sit on and travel with while those wash. Sweet right?!
And finally – the price, because I know that’s an important question. The MyFit Zip Air includes the SuperCinch LATCH attachment, leatherette armrests for easy cleaning, 3D AirMesh fabric for improved ventilation, that second layer zip-on seat pad, cup-console and SuperSoft fabrics – all for $299.99. At $199.99, the MyFit has the same safety and comfort features, but is a more basic option at a less expensive price point. Both are available on ChiccoUSA.com.
Check it out on their site! Our recommendation is a big fat YES and I love that we are set now through a booster seat. HOLLA.
