I’m just going to go ahead and dive right in….let’s answer some questions. 😉
Q: Can you do a baby must haves post?
A: Yes! I actually have this going live next week!
Q: Was giving birth scary?
A: Ya know it’s interesting, I was a lot more nervous this time than I was with Blake. Not sure if that was just because I knew more, whereas with Blake I went in blind or what, but yeah. However I will say that both times once I was there and it was go time, I didn’t worry about all that, I was just in the moment.
Q: Where is my necklace from with Blake + Nash’s name on it? (most asked question)
A: Made by Mary – LOVE her stuff!
Q: Breakfast or lunch ideas for kids?
A: I wrote this blog post a couple of years ago, here, but still think there are some great ideas on it!
Q: How has the transition from one to two kids been? (second most asked question, haha)
A: Honest answer – not super easy. It’s weird, there are moments of, I got this, I’m super woman and then moments of holy sh*t, chaos.
Q: How did you get into the Instagram world?
A: Ya know – this is a question with a LONG answer, but long story short, I started a blog almost 10 years ago, mainly focused on style and hair tutorials. Then when I got married, I had a little Etsy shop with it and did that/blogging, once Marcus and I started trying to get pregnant I started talking more about that and it’s just kind of grown through the years and is now just real life and family focused with hair tutorials and everything in between 😉 It has NOT been easy, it’s been a LOT of freaking work actually but I love it.
A: Do not let me fool you, I’m sooo not super Mom! We’re a hot mess all day and I’m attempting to figure life out every single day, Haha!
A: So I wouldn’t say we “tried naturally” for three years, but it was a little over three years before we did IVF, but we tried a whole bunch of other medication, etc. before jumping into IVF 🙂
A: Yes! This has been a huge request, I have it scheduled to go live in October – so stay tuned. It’ll just be kind of what it’s been like for me, etc.
A: Not so much on Instagram, more so style posts – but I did start with hair when I first started blogging (Instagram wasn’t really around then).
A: Guys, you’re going to judge me for this – I have no idea. I need to do the test…hahah – so if you have suggestions on where to take the little test thing, holla at me.
A: Yes! Technical name of where I got to church – Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
A: I have a post coming for this too with actual links to clothes, but briefly – anything with buttons or a t-shirt and jeans, just things that are easy to nurse in!
A: So far, so good. Definitely have had a few moments of “baby blues” but I have been on medication for my anxiety/depression for well over a year now and through my pregnancy – so I think this has helped a ton compared to postpartum with Blake! Biggest advice i can give – don’t be afraid to ask for help, you DON’T have to be super Mom all the time, you’re allowed to not be okay and get help. I wish someone had told me those words when I was struggling after Blake.
A: First off, you guys are so nice! Sheesh! Second off, ya know – I doubt myself a lot (don’t we all), but I had a couple of pretty good role models, my Mom and Grandma – who showed me/others nothing but love and kindness and I really hope and am doing my best to teach Blake the same. I think honestly we are all a little hard on ourselves and doing the best we can and should show ourselves grace on the daily – and I need to take my own advice on this especially 😉
A: He was 7 pounds 11 ounces!
A: So guys, I say this while knocking on wood a million times and holding my breathe. He’s seriously a dream baby compared to Blake as a baby. Don’t get me wrong – love her with all of my heart, but she was a REALLY hard baby. Now, he’s not perfect and definitely has his “witching” hours, but so far for the most part he’s pretty chill (like his Daddy) and at night he’s been sleeping about 4 hour stretches. AGAIN KNOCK ON WOOD. Blake at night on the other hand….she keeps me up more than my newborn, haha!
A: He is a teacher and finishing up his administration masters this year (HALLELUJAH!)
A: Well please know this advice is coming from well, a super stress, anxious Mother – hahaha – but my biggest advice is show yourself grace, be okay with changing up your to-do list and laugh when things get chaotic and too much.
A: I have tips on with gel polish over it, but I’m trying dip powder this weekend for the first time!
A: Found it on a website and fell in love. HA! We had a really hard time finding a name for him.
A: Honestly, I’ve just been eating healthy so far not focused on a diet too much – but trying to make sure I get in at least 1800 calories to keep my supply up!
A: Honestly, I feel like I am still figuring it out, but my biggest thing I’ve learned so far is just rolling with the punches, things are never going to go as planned, HA! Also a routine as much as possible!!!
A: So far it’s just the anatomy of it 😉 Haha! I think he’s too young to tell anything else yet.
A: Ya know – I feel like I figure it out day by day, but there are a few things that I’ve put into effect everyday and those have made a huge difference. One, I get up when Marcus leaves, so around 6:30, feed Nash and then take 15-20 minutes to get ready for me (this time is really good for me and helps me feel better about myself). I make my bed every morning because I just feel like it helps me feel more organized and then I start a load of laundry every day and make sure it’s put away before bed, no matter what. And finally, two more things – I live off of my to-do list and calendar, without either I’d be lost and finally, I clean up as I go throughout the day so that things don’t pile up. Anddd as far as help, yes I have a nanny a couple of days a week and then Blake is in school part time, so both of those things help huge! I used to have a house cleaner who was incredible, but we decided to cut back on that right before we had baby boy. But we might bring her back in the new year because seriously help is a huge part of not losing my sanity.
A: Yes! We have more embryos that are currently frozen. 🙂
A: For sure going out and just loading up the car and then, trying to make sure both get the attention they need from me.
A: Well for one my Mom had it and it genetics play a huge role in it. But anyways, I didn’t start a period until I was like 16 years old and they weren’t regular at all, so that’s why I went in. As far as testing went, I remember getting bloodwork and an ultrasound test done and then her diagnosing me!
A: Ya know – this is a hot topic in our house…hahaha honestly, Marcus and I both are pretty content with two right now, but ask me in like four years, that might change. 😉
A: Sooo I’m probably not the best person to ask for this – but my girl Lindsey over at Lactation Link knows her stuff and I know she can recommend good stuff to you!
A: I’d say we have a great relationship! I have an incredible step-Dad who stepped in when I was a little girl and my bio-Dad left us and he’s raised me with my Mom. My Mom and I talk basically everyday and we all hang out often and are at each other’s houses multiple times a week! But we’re also human and definitely fight at times hahah! What family doesn’t?
A: GUYS, I need to do this. YES. I will put it on my calendar now!
A: For those of you not familiar, it was a baby shower that I hosted with incredible companies to give to Moms that needed a little extra help. They were incredible and I held four of them! I hope to do them again in the future, but for now I had to cut back and focus on family because they were A LOT and I traveled quite a bit for them.
A: Marcus is SUPER chill, like that’s an understatement, I think I’ve heard him raise his voice maybe 2 times ever in our marriage and I can say for sure that he’s never yelled at me (fought with me, well duh, but never yelled). Well, I’m the opposite. Hahahah. I’m high strung, a perfectionist and just a little over the top. So for one, we definitely balance each other out in those areas. But then there’s other things like Marcus is a huge procrastinator and I am NOT, so I help in that area, etc. Our personalities are pretty opposite so I’d say we do a pretty good job balancing each other out.
A: Sooo I’ve been asked this a lot so I think I’m going to record it one day and put it on IGTV! Why not?! Just show a little real life and behind the scenes!
A: I edit everything in Lightroom!
A: We’ve been married seven and a half years!
A: I’ll be 29 this December. 😉 One more yearrrrrr, one more year. hahahah
A: I did three and a half years of college and didn’t graduate, whoops. However, I did go to cosmetology school and did graduate from that, so we’re winning in one department 😉
A: Breastfeeding with Blake was REALLY rough and she weaned herself at 6 months, she was over it.
A: We had friends set us up on a blind date!
A: It’s a goal of mine to have a hair accessory company – so for sure, but probably not for awhile. Going to enjoy Motherhood for a bit 😉
A: Uppa Baby – I swear by it and LOVE it. Used it with Blake too.
