Marcus and I have actually been using Vivint products for close to 5 years now, so when they approached me to work together it was an easy yes for just that reason. If you know both us, you know that well, the anxiety runs strong in both of our blood. HA! So naturally, once we bought our first home, a security system was one of the first things we looked at. We found Vivint and were really impressed with their company overall. So anyway, like I said – we’ve teamed up with them and will be doing a few things in the future. But first, I wanted to start with kind of an introductory blog post. Share some details on the products we initially used with them, what all we have now and then features that I think are important to know and beneficial, especially for families. 

When we first signed up with them years ago, we started with the basics – so security on doors and windows and with the use of the Smart Hub. We figured this was a good way to really get introduced to it and really fell in love with it all and have added on since. The smart hub is super easy to use and really controls all the things, literally. It’s your home base. They also have an app that basically does the same thing, it’s just right on your phone with easy access. They walk you through everything and an installer comes out to make sure it’s all done right and make sure you understand everything. So don’t let the thought of “complicated” scare you away from it, because it’s not, at all.

Like I said, we fell in love with it, so we added even more and have really customized things to not only give security but essentially add smart home features like cameras, motion sensors, glass break sensors, lighting control, etc. They have SO many options but those are just some that we use and love. 

We use ours for well, everything these days I swear. But especially for peace of mind and to be able to have a look at what’s happening in our home at all times. We have their smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors installed so that if something were to happen while home or not home, Vivint’s monitoring team is alerted and help is sent if needed. They’re there for you and available, literally 24/7. In fact, we’ve accidentally set our alarm off…whoops and receive a call within seconds every, single, time to ensure it was a false alarm. 

Anyways, there’s a quick intro to things. I’ll dive more into specific products on our next post, but I wanted to get you these details for now. 

If you’ve been thinking about a security system, or if you haven’t but are now, I’m telling you – just don’t wait, there’s no time like the present and with things being totally customizable, it’s truly affordable. And I can tell you, it truly has given me a little more peace of mind and helped settle my anxiety a little more, especially at night and to me, that’s worth it.
