It’s currently the perfect time to do all house projects, crafts, reading and basically everything that has been on your “to do” list for the past ten years. I mean we are stuck at home…so why not? It’s also the perfect time to just do fun, new crafts. Soo I’m going to share with y’all one we recently did. It’s super easy, WAY cute + perfect for this time of year since spring is here and summer is rolling in shortly.
I teamed up with Plasti Dip (which coolest product ever y’all) to show you this. I’m not going to lie, I had heard of Plasti Dip before but didn’t know much about them. Now that their products have been in my hand and I have physically used them – I’m here to tell you they’re legit. I used their Original Plasti Dip and Craft Plasti Dip to create the little pots that you see above. They took just a few minutes to do, then I let them dry + ta-da! We were done. Here’s a look at the entire process so you can see it with actual pictures, then I’ll talk more about the product and why I think it was perfect to use for this. Shop now on Amazon.
Step 1: I wiped the pots off pretty well before actually spraying them.
Step 2: Tape off any spots that you don’t want sprayed.
Step 3: Spray away! I did two layers. So I did one, then completely let it dry, then added a second one.
Step 4: Let that last one completely dry + then style them how you want!
Okay, now let’s talk about the product here. So Plasti Dip actually started as a manufacturer of rubber coatings – used for all sorts of things. But in 2018 they launched an extension of their Original Plasti Dip – their Plasti Dip Craft. While both products you can use for a range of home renos and fun crafts – the main difference is the color selection. Meaning the Plasti Dip Craft was made to cater towards crafting – so a different range of colors. Here’s what is so great about the entire thing… it protects surfaces, resists chips, scratches, dings AND UV. Which is why I said it’s so great for this project. They’re outside and will continue to look fresh, while holding up well. I mean honestly – everything in my house should have this on it because…kids. 😉 Haha! Kidding, but it does work really well for these fun projects. The texture is interesting because when you spray it on it doesn’t look like it’ll be rubbery, but once it’s dry it has that rubbery texture to it. And it’s flexible so it worked really well with these pots since they are rounded. You can use it on anything from quick automotive fixes to simple little projects like this. Anyways, like I said it’s a really cool product and I’m excited for my next craft – which is also on the back patio. If you can’t tell that’s our currently reno spot 😉 I’ll share that when it’s done, which will probably be in a few weeks. So stay tuned there – I’ll try to remember to share it on stories.
But I’m so happy with how these turned out and they look so freaking cute in our little patio area! Get yours at Amazon. As for the pots themselves, I also just grabbed a pretty inexpensive 6 pack on Amazon.
Happy Crafting y’all!
