I’m really excited about today’s blog post because I kid you not – I have said to Marcus on multiple occasions, “Why isn’t there a car seat that just converts to all the car seats you need?” WELL GUESS WHAT PEOPLE – IT’S HERE. Chicco did it and they DID NOT disappoint. I mean it when I say they hit all the points us Moms want and well, let’s chat in detail about just what I mean there.
The car seat is called the Fit4 4-in-1Convertible Car Seat, we’ve been using these for a few weeks now and have broken them in and gotten a real feel for what they’re like. We also got the opportunity to use one Fit4 in “Stage 2” and Fit4 one in “Stage 4 (Booster)” mode – so I feel like we got a great look at converting it and all that. So first, I want to show you their product image, just because I feel like that picture really shows what all I’m about to explain.
Now that you have the picture, you can see what I’m saying. I wasn’t kidding – FOUR STAGES Y’ALL. This car seat literally works the entire time your little one will need a car seat, from infant through “big kid”. So the important stuff, here are the details that I found the most important and well, what I really look for in a car seat:
- Obviously safety and I can’t say enough good things there with Chicco. In fact, our very first car seat for Blake was their infant seat. This car seat has DuoGuard© head and torso side-impact protection and a steel reinforced frame. They also have a 9 position reclining system WHICH I love because it even works during Booster mode. Which means I can adjust it so that when and if (which is rarely) when Blake falls asleep in the car, her head doesn’t fall forward. And the SuperCinch makes it so easy to tighten the seat! WIN PEOPLE.
- Simplicity of install. Believe me when I say we have spent hours installing a freaking car seat and most of you parents know exactly what I’m saying. No joke, Nash’s took 5 minutes to install. Blake’s took about 10 (only because we had to convert hers all the way from infant to big kid) – but EASY and quick is my point.
- Cleanliness. I need something that is washable and this is. BUT GET THIS – there’s more (I feel like an infomercial right now, but guys it’s that good), they literally have thought of it all like I said. There is a layer for each stage, MEANING a fresh new layer AKA a fresh new start with each little stage because kids are gross and things get destroyed. So when you’re ready to move to the next stage, you “peel” back that current layer (which they’re tabbed and easy to remove) and then you have a new clean layer underneath. HOLLLAAA. Five stars from this Mom. They are also machine washable!
- Uncomplicated. Meaning, I don’t want to spend five freaking hours ready and trying to figure out how to convert this car seat or make sure it’s properly installed. Well, one, they have a fancy QR code on the side you can scan with your phone, which will take you directly to installation info or you can find it on their site, here. But while you’re installing it, you’ll see it kind of guides you. Meaning, they made it easy with RideRight© bubble levels and a guide to tell you exactly where it should fall for that stage and your little. There are 10 positions for the headrest, meaning you can get the accurate height to keep your little safe and comfortable and their cup holders are foldable, meaning you can save more space. Which y’all it’s already pretty narrow (but comfortable) to where you could fit three of them in the same row of your car.
I mean quite honestly, they’ve hit basically everything. They’ve thought of all the details to storing the buckles properly for booster mode to push button removal cup holders. When I first met with their team and they walked me through this car seat and showed me all the details of it, I was REALLY impressed, but obviously still kind of like….but how complicated is it really? Because four stages? That’s a lot. Well, I’m here to tell you now, having used it for a while and installed two stages, I can’t recommend it enough. We are going to put one in Marcus’ car too for Nash if that doesn’t tell you even more how much we love it.
I’m going to link it, here and then y’all can run over and check it out!
