I have talked about HelloFresh a million and one times – but I don’t think I’ve ever written a blog post on it. SO I’m excited to today because it’ll be stuck here on the blog where y’all can refer back to it and see all the details you need to. I’m going to kind of do this question and answer style to start with because I feel like that’s going to be most beneficial for y’all for my first blog post with them. Plus I get a lot of questions about HelloFresh often sooo this is the perfect chance for me to answer some of the most commonly asked ones since I can’t always respond to all of my DMs.
Q: Is it worth it?
A: Hands down the most commonly asked question and let me respond with a question – would I continue to post about it if not? 😉 Y’all know I only share if I love something and this I do and we use it even when not working with them. It’s such a time saver + takes the guesswork out of things.
Q: Options? Do you find things you’ll actually eat?
A: Yes! There are always multiple options to choose from and I have found that they have the best selection for our family with options that we will eat and the kids will. Sometimes I have to give Blake things “deconstructed” but I mean, kids, when do you not have to? 😉 The big winner is Marcus, he’s way pickier than Blake and eats everything we get from them.
Q: How do you do it with being lactose intolerant and not eating gluten?
A: It actually hasn’t been too hard. I typically will pick meals that we can eat and that don’t require too many changes on my end. For example, if we do enchiladas or something then I just swap mine out with a gluten free tortilla, etc. and dairy – that’s pretty easy to not add in or to change out. I definitely have to switch things for me here and there, but that’s really just how it is when you’re lactose intolerant and choose to not eat gluten and we all know that. 😉
Q: How long do your discounts last?
A: Only a couple of days – so not long at all. That’s why I always say if you haven’t tried it before and want to JUMP ON IT when I post about a coupon! 😉
Q: How many meals do you get weekly?
A: We typically will do three meals a week but we have done four before just when life is really busy (typically in the fall with back to school and all of that).
Q: How hard are the meals to make?
A: If you have followed me for awhile then you know that well….I’m definitely not a master chef, at all. Soo if that tells you anything then it’s saying they’re not hard at all. They come with literally everything you need and a full recipe card that breaks it all down for you.
Q: Do you do meals for 2 or 4 people?
A: When it was just Marcus, Blake and I – we did 2 and that was plenty. Now that we have Nash and Blake is older we have switched to the four and it works out! Some nights we have leftovers that I’ll throw in the fridge for the next day for me for lunch, but that’s not super often. Usually it’s the perfect amount.
Okay – I think I covered the main questions that y’all ask. But I am going to add in another cool thing that I think you should know and that is just their ease for cleaning up. They send everything in a recyclable paper bag and you use that to clean up as you go as well. I literally just toss scraps and trash in there and then toss it. Super easy!
