Okay, as promised here’s the post for all the botox and filler questions y’all had. Like true Jess fashion, I’ll keep this Q+A style and just answer the questions you guys had, below. So let’s go!
Q: Is it painful? A: NOPE. I mean you feel a tiny pinch and the filler kind of feels weird, but it's not painful. And if you've birthed children before this is NOTHING.
Q: When did you start getting botox and where? Same with Filler? A: I started when I was 26 with just botox in between my eyebrows. Then I started doing my forehead about a year later. I added in filler around 28 just under my eyes because Mom life. I tried botox once on my crows feet and won't do it again because it changed my smile too much (like when I would go and smile it just looked weird) and plus the filler has helped a lot with that too without changing my smile.
Q: What do you get now and how often? A: I get botox between my eyebrows and my forehead - 26 units to be exact. And then I do filler under my eyes to help with them being sunken in and tired looking, it also reduces my crows feet lines too. I get my botox done 2-3 times a year, usually 2 just because it is expensive and then my filler about every year and a half to two years.
Q: Which hurts more, botox or filler? A: They are different feelings. Botox is more pinchy and filler is just a weird freaking feeling of like fat being pushed into your face. Hahah! I don't know how else to describe it.
Q: How much is each? A: This is going to 100% dependent on where you go, but botox for me is $9/unit and then the filler is about $500 (but remember this one lasts 1-2 years so big difference).
Q: How many needles does it take? A: Just one per each (filler and botox) but they do inject multiple times with each if that makes sense, like a little here and a little there. ;)
Q: Dysport or botox? A: I have had both and honestly couldn't tell you the difference between either. Both hit in the same amount of time and lasted the same.
Q: What is the benefit? A: For one, starting early just helps keep it preventative and two, it's something I personally just like to do and feel more confident with. My make up stays on smoother and idk...you do you.
Q: Have you had lip fillers? A: I have not - I feel like my lips are an okay size. However I have had several friends who have and just be prepared, they bruise like crazy and you will look ridiculous for the first 2-3 days. HA! After that though they look AWESOME if done right.
Q: How long does botox last? A: For me, typically 2-3 months. I usually noticed it's pretty much gone after 3 months.
Q: Did you do it while pregnant/breastfeeding? A: NOPE. Had to wait until I was done with both!!
Q: Do you have tenderness post injections? A: For the botox, nope not at all. The filler - yes. My cheeks/under eyes were WAY tender for about 3 days.
Q: Do you have a before/after pic? A: This time, no. But I do from forever ago, that you can see, here with my real quality pics from four years ago. ;)
Okay, I think I got the majority of the questions that were asked! 🙂
