I thought it was time I got a new blog post up since I have been so behind in this world over here on my site with moving and everything in between. If you missed it, WE MOVED – TO ARIZONA.
It’s been honestly a wild last two months. In February we went to Scottsdale on a family trip and while we were here Marcus and I both got a pretty solid prompting that we should look into moving here. We had talked about moving to Arizona for literally the last almost 9 years and every time, something wasn’t going to work or one of us wanted to and the other didn’t. Well, we both were interested and decided to just look. I mean honestly, we didn’t think it would happen for 2+ years. We had JUST moved into our dream home, I just started Leigh and Jo and well, things were just not in the right place for it to be soon….so we thought.
We looked at a couple of communities while we were here then went home and just casually chatted and researched things. There were FOUR main hold ups that were going to keep the move from happening for a couple of years. And again, we were fine with that, but then we both kept feeling like look now, so we said okay – just ask and see if it’s even realistic to happen sooner. The first call was to my office space, I had JUST signed. I chatted with them, explained things and within an hour things were going the right direction with that. So we called our accountant next because well, ya know – capital gains, we weren’t in our house for long. Boom, another miracle (we still have to pay, so nobody get crazy, but it was still going to be worth it). Honestly, those two things were the ones I wasn’t worried about as much as the other two, those two things I figured would work or could work some how, we just might have to pay, etc. which was true. Anyways, the next two. Next, was Marcus’ job. We couldn’t move if he didn’t have a job lined up or was able to keep his current. For obvious reasons. Welp, within a week, he had approval to continue and keep his job remote, out of state. At this point, I was like holy cow – is this happening? Then the fourth one, I won’t go into details because it’s not my story to share, but it was with my sister Ariel who is with us and honestly, that was one of the biggest miracles – it clicked, it worked, she could come with us and the future for her would work too.
There were lots of other little things that clicked as we went along the way, none were coincidences in my opinion, God had it the entire time. We planned to list our house in April, but I just an urge to ask our realtor if we should list before spring break, she looked into it and that was going to work. Again, click, click, click. We had the most incredible buyers, the sale went so smoothly (as smooth as one can go, especially compared to our previous homes) and we witnessed more miracles along the way to closing.
Before I knew it, we were driving here. We had a rental house. It was happening. Now, we’ve been here a week and a half and honestly, it feels good. I’ve been really overwhelmed, I have a ton on my plate and about 28357439 things to figure out (so that’s chaotic), but it feels right to be here. I was so nervous about things, so nervous about changes, etc. I mean – our families are both in Idaho, we both grew up there, this is a HUGE change. But it’s felt good so far, I’ve felt peace, even among the chaos.
We still have a long way to go, lots to do and honestly, who knows what the future holds or why God called us here, but I am trying really hard to follow his promptings and live my life in faith and happiness. Honestly, we never know how much time we have in this life and the older I get, the more I realize this to be true. So I’m learning to roll with the punches, live a life God would be proud of and take risks/have faith.
Here’s to whatever the future holds!
