I’m all about a good life hack and this bun tutorial I am going to share today, is just that. I’ve teamed up with Herbal Essences to share it and I did this tutorial after I used their Hemp + Potent Aloe Shampoo and Conditioner. Which left my hair silky soft and smooth so it gave the perfect look for this bun.
Okay, so here’s the how to in picture format, but I am going to break it down and talk you through it below.

Start with your hair brushed out and smooth, then grab it into a low ponytail and secure it off, but stop at a bun with your last loop. Meaning, you’re not going to have a full ponytail, you’ll have a bun with a little “tail”. Take that tail and twist it then, wrap it over the bun and around underneath. Then tuck it into your elastic and pull the twist a little bit to give it a “messier, fuller” look. And ta-da! That’s it. It’s seriously so simple, but such a sleek looking bun. I also love to throw in little hair scarfs when wearing this or a headband to complete the look.
Now let’s chat about the product. Like I mentioned, I used the Herbal Essences Hemp + Potent Aloe Shampoo and Conditioner right before I did this style. So I washed, conditioned and blow dried. I love these products because they’re affordable, you can grab them at your local drugstore but they’re made with good ingredients. They’re made with a sulfate free Hemp to help control frizz, real aloe to keep your hair smooth and they’re all PETA Cruelty free. I have pretty curly/wavy hair so a drugstore product that has good ingredients and works well on my hair is far and few between. In fact, Marcus uses these products on the regular and loves them and he has even curlier hair than I do.
