It’s been a hot minute since I’ve written a blog post and I’m so excited to be back here and sharing this one especially. It’ll be a perfect place for y’all to reference back and find links for everything.
So without further ado, the boy’s room! I love how it turned out so much. I was really worried about creating a space that would work for an age gap like theirs but also keeping it modern, fresh and a little safe space for them. But I am really proud of how it turned out and they love hanging out in there, in fact everyone does, including Blake! Ha!
Excitingly enough, we partnered up with Max & Lily on this space and now that we own a few pieces from them, have put them together and lived with them for a month – I can honestly say, I’m so impressed! The quality, the simplicity and the look is perfect. It’s everything parents want in their little’s rooms, but then they have the fun aspect to it too, which is what’s important to the littles! 😉
We went with their twin over twin fun slide bunk bed, two of their twin mattresses and their Scandinavian 3 drawer dresser. All the pieces fit perfectly in there and bring the entire room together. Marcus put the bunk bed together and I did the dresser and both of us said to each other separately, that was some of the best instructions we’ve had on furniture. Ha! Parents you know what I’m talking about… or just any married couple in general trying to build furniture together.. it’s a patience tester, that’s for sure! But truly, not here, both pieces went together seamlessly. The bunk took time because it was so big, but it wasn’t bad to put together M said.
Anyways, so let me show you the room!
I love that the bottom bunk is on the floor, it will be perfect for baby to transition to from his crib. I also love that the top bunk is pretty much completely surrounded with railing. Makes for more peace of mind with Nash up there! The kids think the slide is the best thing ever and still to this day play on it all day, all the time. Even the neighbor kids will come over and the first thing they do is go play on it. Ha! Another perk of the bunk is the side where the stairs are, on the side there is storage which is great for storing toys and books!
And as for the mattresses – they’re pretty comfy and that’s coming from a Mom who had laid on them more times than I care to admit….
Finally, the Scandinavian 3 drawer dresser fit perfectly between the door and the closet which made my heart happy. Originally I was going to put it between the bunk and crib but when I saw it in the space it’s in, it had to stay because it fit so perfectly.
